About McBride Construction
Karl McBride began in the Canterbury construction business over one and a half decades ago. Now, with valuable international experience behind him, he has returned to where it all began and established a construction company to help with earthquake repairs in Christchurch.
Key skills from a wide-ranging career now inform much of his work. Time in London running a project management company has helped create important systems and communication abilities. A successful livelihood working for one of Sydney’s most prestigious building companies has ensured an eye for a superior result and the expertise to reach it.
Today he heads our small, tight-knit team of talented individuals focused on delivering renovation, interior construction and earthquake repair throughout Canterbury.
As is known by Christchurch building companies, EQC repairs are intricate, delicate and, often for the homeowners, hectic. With each of our many renovations and interior construction projects the McBride Construction team of carpenters, plasterers and painters deliver peace of mind to homeowners after the trying seismic events of recent years.
McBride Construction has certification as members of Site Safe AppCon and HazardCo. Importantly also, the company is licensed and registered with Fletchers for earthquake repair. No matter the size, style or shape of the job, we provide these key capabilities to clients.
Communication. Every building company says it, and some even follow through with their promises. But we consistently communicate with clarity – and back it with technological know-how. We place great importance on putting down the consultation time before picking up the tools. Because we need to know whom we are working for, what they are hoping for, and how we’ll make this hope a reality.
Innovation. We’re old school Christchurch construction – but we’re not old school Christchurch service. We continue to assess and carefully innovate our systems for the benefit of our clients. Using modern-day technology means much more can be achieved on-site – and we can adapt our service to the unique needs of each and every client.
Dedication. Without enthusiasm for the work, a company can quickly fall. So we employ those who are not only skilled but also passionate. We expect them to show dedication to our clients, dedication to the processes and dedication to the smallest details on each and every project.
Reputation. Our work is as much about reputation as it is repair and renovation. Christchurch is a relatively small place and we want to continue living and working here with our heads held high. Warren Buffet said, "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.” Our work must stand the test of time. That’s why we’re most proud of the strong client
relationships we build.
